Description
Account of World War II history of HMAS Arunta, a Tribal Class destroyer in the RAN, compiled from a variety of sources. Mentions ship's first captain Commodore Morrow DSO DSC, use of radar and torpedo technology, evacuation of commandos from Timor, activities at Milne Bay, Goodenough Island, Philippines (including Leyte and Surigo Straits), Borneo, and also describing enlistment, Japanese suicide aircraft attacks, and eventual capsizing of the Arunta after the War when it had been decommissioned. Includes copies of photographs, newspaper clippings, official documents, and extracts from war diary.
