Vung Tau, South Vietnam. 1966-01. Sergeant Don McDonald (left) of Walgett, NSW, and Sapper Bruce Lauder of Coolangatta, Qld, on the beach with their boards prepare to assault the surf. They were among forty Australian soldiers based at Bien Hoa who formed the first party to take seven days leave at the new Australian rest and convalescence centre opened in a villa on the coast.
