Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands. 1942-11-15. A full-scale attack by Japanese forces on the American perimeter where Marines were protecting Henderson field, failed with substantial enemy losses. Japanese transports are shown on fire near the shore, after eleven ships had been sunk, gutted or beached.
