Description
All companies of the 5th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (5RAR), based on Vung Tau peninsula, took part in Operation Pinfeather, a helicopter operational exercise in the Phuoc Tuy Province. The helicopters operated by the 145th US Aviation Battalion uplifted the entire battalion over a two hour period. Sergeant Brian London, in thick brush, is beside the landing zone. Sergeant London was later awarded a DCM for actions at Binh Ba.
