Description
A group of Vietnamese found in a house by soldiers of the 5th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (5RAR), are guarded while Private Hugh Evans of Hobart, Tas, signals in the information. Afterwards these soldiers drew their first fire of Operation Hardihood. The two soldiers carry World War 2 vintage 9mm Owen guns and have smeared their faces for camouflage and to dull their shiny skin. Identified at centre rear is Lieutenant John Curtis Hartley (later Captain).
