Description

Hansa Bay, New Guinea. 1943-08-28. The dangers of low level bombing attacks when the attacking aircraft follow each other too closely are illustrated in this photograph taken from a RAAF aircraft of a low level attack by B25 bombers on camouflaged Japanese ships. This photograph shows the second aircraft hitting the water having been destroyed by a bomb from the preceding aircraft. Target ships burn fiercely.
