Bustard Head, Qld. 1946-08. The General Purpose Vessels HMAS Jaburi (GPV967) and HMAS Tallarook (GPV968) at anchor in the entrance to Pancake Creek on the northern side of Bustard Head. Jabiru and Tallarook were both hydrographic survey vessels and during the 1946 survey of the Curtis Channel they would both frequently anchor at night on the northern or southern side of Bustard Head depending on the direction of the prevailing wind.
