Singapore. c. 1942-06. Informal group portrait of NX49746 Private Athol Alister Doyle, 2/19th Battalion (far right smoking a cigarette), a Japanese guard (second from right) and two other Australian Prisoners of War (POW) at the Thy Hong biscuit factory. Note the identity discs worn by Doyle and the POW second from left. Doyle died of illness on 5 June 1943 while working on the Burma-Thailand Railway. (Donor: C. Doyle)
