France. c. 1917. Canadian Army soldiers working on a partially dismantled tank in a village away from the front line. A local citizen (civilian) carrying two small children inspects the interior of the tank. (Donor Canadian Official Photograph) The tank is a Mk I Female, No 515, D17. The name ”HMLS Donner Blitzen” is painted on the left side of the tank just forward of the removed sponson.
