Vietnam. 1967-09. Private Deone Cole of New Norfolk, Tas, leads a section of 2RAR /NZ (ANZAC) (The ANZAC Battalion comprising 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment and a component from the 1st Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment), wading through deep water to cross a paddy field south-east of the Australian Task Force base at Nui Dat. They were patrolling the coastal strip of Phuoc Tuy Province, as part of a move by the battalion to prevent Viet Cong reinforcements, supplies and equipment entering the province by sea.
