Enlisting in the Australian Army Nursing Service (AANS) in March 1945; served in 111 Australian General Hospital in Campbell Town Tasmania; description of hospital; posted to Bonegilla, Victoria then Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital in Victoria and then in March 1947 posted to 130 Australian General Hospital in Eta Jima, Japan; describes the hospital and the patients; moved to British Commonwealth Occupation Force (BCOF) Hospital at Kure; describes food; recreation; sight-seeing during spare time; visit to Hiroshima; first patients arriving from Korea; appointed to work on hospital train carriage bringing Korean War casualties from the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) air base at Iwakuni to the BCOF hospital at Kure; describes the types of wounds and injuries; relations with British and Canadian nursing sisters; places visited during leave in Japan; posted to camp hospital at Puckapunyal in Australia in 1952; left Army and returned to civilian nursing.
