Description
South Vietnam. 1969-02-07. The Adjutant of 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), Captain Phil Davies of Lithgow, NSW, presented this encased Chinese Communist AK47 assault rifle to the Battery Commander, Major Gavin Andrews of Ingleburn, NSW, 102nd Field Battery, Royal Australian Artillery, in appreciation of the artillery support given to the battalion by the battery during the battalion's tour of duty.
