Description
Copies of two typescript letters from Tokyo Bay by the surgeon on HMAS Warramunga. Includes detailed descriptions of the bay as the ship makes its way into it in preparation for the Japanese surrender ceremony 1945; the city of Yokahama; the allied fleet and the reactions of the Australian servicemen to the surrender. Also there is a note by John Rieshbieth elaborating on the bombardment of Wewak mentioned in one of the letters.
