Pontville, Tasmania. 1914-09. Group portrait of members of the Staff of the 9th Battery, 3rd Field Artillery Brigade (3FAB) with range finding instruments, signalling flags and heliographs. Back row, fourth from the left is 2058 Bombardier (later Air Commodore) Raymond James Brownell with one of the ?mekometers for range finding.
