Mena, Egypt. 1915-01. 2058 Bombardier (later Air Commodore) Raymond James Brownell, 9th Battery, 3rd Field Artillery Brigade (3FAB), with a Zeiss range finder on a tripod. Brownell was using the new instrument, which weighed fourteen pounds without the stand, to take a range during a training session in the desert. (Original housed in AWM Archive Store) (Donor R.
