Vung Tau Harbour, South Vietnam. 1968-04-09. A landing craft full of 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), troops pulls away from HMAS Sydney and towards Vung Tau. The battalion relieved 7th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (7RAR), at the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) Base at Nui Dat. For more than 100 members of 1RAR the arrival meant the beginning of their second tour of duty in Vietnam.
