Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Sir Thomas Joseph Daly of Canberra, ACT (left), takes the salute with the Vietnamese Army Chief of the General Staff, General Cao Van Vien, after arriving at the Headquarters of the Joint General Staff. Lt Gen Daly had just arrived at Tan Son Nhut airport for a five day visit to Australian and Allied establishments as part of a periodic tour of Australian overseas defence commitments.
