Private (Pte) John Rands of Temora, NSW, enjoys a bowl of soup at the 1st Australian Field Hospital (1AFH) after receiving treatment for wounds received in a clash with communists in north-west Bien Hoa Province. Pte Rands is a member of 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), and was a part of the Australian force defending Fire Support Base (FSB) Coral which the enemy tried to overrun. [2787069 Pte John Milton Rands was killed in action in Bien Hoa Province on 12 December 1968.]
