South Vietnam. 1968-07-17. A soldier receives a helping hand while thigh deep in mud during an operation in Phuoc Tuy Province, near the village of Hoa Long. The one day sweep of jungle and rice paddies by members of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), was organised by intelligence staff at the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) Base at Nui Dat.
