Description

United States Philippine Campaign Medals (1899-1906). The obverse has the words 'PHILIPPINE INSURRECTION' at the top above a palm tree, Roman lamp (left) and scales (right) and the year numeral 1898in the exergue. The reverse depicts a spread eagle on a trophy consisting of a cannon, six rifles, four standards, an Indian shield, quiver of arrows with three spears, a Cuban machete, and Sulu kris. Below the trophy are the words 'FOR SERVICE'. The inscription 'UNITED STATES ARMY' is at the upper half and thirteen five-pointed stars in the lower half. The suspender is a loose ring and the ribbon is royal blue with two 8mm rede stripes near each edge. 'No.22002' and the other '31629'. Both have brooch pins. The medals vary in size and colour.
