Ilolo, Papua, 1942-09. McDonald's Ilolo homestead. In the two weeks prior to their setting out on the Kokoda Trail, members of 2/4th Field Ambulance undertook route marches from the unit's camp near Bisiatabu to this homestead and back again as part of a programme to improve their fitness.
