Kokoda, Papua, 1942-11. Informal outdoors portrait of NX70195 Captain Alan Victor Day (left), a Medical Officer (MO) serving with the 2/4th Field Ambulance, and a native named Machuaro who had attached himself to the 2/6th Field Ambulance during the Australians' initial advance and then retreat over the Kokoda Trail. Machuaro was now accompanying the 2/4th Field Ambulance in its advance back over the trail. (Note: The location of this image is incorrectly given as Wairopi in Dr. Alan Watson's video, Kokoda War Diary.)
