Description

Long Dien, South Vietnam. 1968-08. Corporal Bill Skeen of Villawood, NSW, repacking his gear into his pack after breakfast and before moving into the village of Long Dien to search houses and buildings. He is a member of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), and was involved in bitter fighting between the Viet Cong and Australians in Long Dien the previous day. Note the armoured personnel carrier (APC) and other troops in the background.
