Engraving tool from Changi : R C Shelton, 2/9 Field Ambulance
Description
Hand carved tapered wooden handled tool, with simple round steel pin engraver mounted in the narrower end. The engraving pin has a bevelled cutting edge.
History / Summary
This engraving tool was handmade in Changi Gaol by R C Shelton from a broken dental drill with the wooden handle cut from a rubber tree. His engraving skills were self taught.
