Description
Soputa, Papua, 1942-12. In the aftermath of monsoonal rains, two members of the 2/4th Field Ambulance attempt with limited success to dig a drainage channel to drain away some of the water that has flooded the unit's Main Dressing Station (MDS) at the camp known as Soputa 2. The MDS had been forced to move to this location in deep jungle from its former site in a clearing about a kilometre away after Japanese aircraft had strafed and bombed the unit, killing several of its members.
