Description

It was a bright day for these Vietnamese children when Private (Pte) John Alvey of Castlemaine, Vic, a member of the headquarters, Australian Force Vietnam (AFV), handed out sweets at the Vietnamese Red Cross centre. The children were all amputees being fitted with artificial limbs. Five-year-old Ho Van Tao is pictured second from the right of Pte Alvey.
