Nui Dat, South Vietnam. 1968-09. The Colonel Commandant of the Royal Australian Regiment, Lieutenant General Sir Reginald Pollard of Wesburn, Vic, inspects a captured machine gun of Chinese origin during a visit to the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) Base at Nui Dat. Showing him the weapon is Major Roger Hutton of The Gap, Qld (left), who is second-in-command of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR). General Pollard was on a four day visit to Australian infantrymen in South Vietnam.
