Nui Dat, South Vietnam. 1968-10. Craftsman Owen Britnell of Biggenden, Qld, checks the directional gyro during a pre-flight check on a Sioux helicopter at the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) Base. He is an instrument fitter with the 161st Independent Reconnaissance Flight which operates Sioux helicopters and Cessna light aircraft in reconnaissance work over Phuoc Tuy Province in support of land operations, artillery and air strikes.
