Collection related to NG33 Warrant Officer Class 2 (WO2) Victor Mervyn Ian Gordon who served with 2/30 Australian Infantry Battalion during the Second World War. The main items in the collection are five handwritten notebooks kept by WO2 Gordon whilst he was a prisoner of war (POW) of the Japanese in Changi. All of the notebooks contain extensive and detailed food recipes, and one also contains recipes to make household cleaning agents. Additional items include a small handwritten memo concerning an AIF Concert Party, a copy of a typed agreement relating to the transfer of a piano accordion between WO2 Gordon and the Changi POW Camp Headquarters, signed and dated 28 January 1945, and ten loose pages of paper with handwritten notes from meetings of POWs in Changi in 1943, including a list of speakers and their lecture subjects from May to August 1943.
