South Vietnam. 1968-11. Members of the Sergeant's Mess of 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), with a picture of three young Malays they helped to educate by contributing funds during their previous tour of duty at Terendak, Malaya. Left to right: Warrant Officer (WO) Kevin Hoyle of Geelong, Vic; Staff Sergeant Hank Reid of Inverbrackie, Sa; WO Robert Cummings of Athol Park, SA; and Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM), WO Vince Murdoch of Inverbrackie, SA. The picture includes a signed message of appreciation by the three Malay children.
