Description
Vung Tau, South Vietnam. 1968. Construction of the swimming pool, later named the Harold Holt Memorial Pool, next to the Peter Badcoe Club, a rest and recreation centre at the 1st Australian Logistic Support Group (1ALSG) base at Back Beach. A bulldozer at left is clearing sand to be taken away by the truck on the right. The Club was named for Major Peter Badcoe who was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross (VC) for several courageous actions in Vietnam. The beach is to the right in the background.
