Nui Dat, South Vietnam. 1969-12. Comedian Lucky Grills gives troops of the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) a sample of his broad Australian humour during a Christmas/New Year concert party at Luscombe Bowl which he compered. The show, sponsored by the Army and the Australian Forces Overseas Fund, drew a capacity crowd of nearly 2000 soldiers who sat for hours in the tropical heat to see the entertainers. Backing the entertainers was the Sydney ABC Dance Band.
