Description
Cairo, Egypt. c. March 1916. Soldiers of 20th Australian Army Supply Corps move amongst lines of fully laden wagons outside the Palace de Koubeh railway station before leaving for the Suez Canal Zone. Standing beside a group of horses is 8932 Driver Jack (John) McKenzie, arguing with another soldier, Gregor MacGregor. The original caption reads `We have had nothing to eat since leaving camp & he is here seen putting the hard word on me for some biscuits & tobacco. The only thing I could give him was a drink of water & tooth pick.' (See also P00037.023)
