Abbassia, Cairo, Egypt. c. 1916. Tall, vertical stone ovens at a bread making factory used to supply troops based at nearby camps, stand behind an Army tent used to store supplies of flour. The original caption reads `They are very old fashioned ovens & was (sic) supposed to have been used by Napoleon when he was in Egypt. I wont (sic) be sorry when I taste some decent bread. What I get here is mostly sour & the flour is not the best.'
