Returned prisoner of war (POW) Gunner S. Beadman of Penrith, NSW, shows the wireless set, built for him by Signaller S. Sim of Sydney, NSW, with which they kept in touch with the outside world while in Changi prison. Others POWs in the same hut at Changi were unaware of the existence of the set so closely had Gunner Beadman kept his secret.
