Portrait of NX27084 Corporal Archibald John Snell, 2/20th Battalion from Dulwich Hill, NSW at the prisoner of war (POW) camp at Notogawa, Osaka. He was captured in Singapore on 15 February 1942 and held as a POW. As a prisoner, he lost two stone (12.7 kilograms) in weight due to the meagre rations at the Notogawa POW Camp. He is sitting on his mat which served as a mattress for the POWs.
