Informal portrait of Ivor Hele taken in the garden at Maffra, the beach house the family rented. SX7174 Private Ivor Henry Thomas Hele sailed for the Middle East with the 2/48th Battalion. He was promoted to lieutenant then temporary captain before his appointment as an Official War Artist on 11 October 1941. Ivor Hele also served in New Guinea, Japan and Korea. (Donor M. Rankin)
