Two of Australia's top soldiers (wheels) sitting in the audience enjoying the lighter side of war at a concert party in the newly opened Kevin Wheatley Gymnasium. The Commander of the Australian Force Vietnam (COMAFV), Major General (Maj Gen) R. A. Hay of Red Hill, ACT (right) and next to him the Commander of the 1st Australian Logistic Support Group (1ALSG), Colonel M. B. Simkin of Red Hill, ACT. The Army sponsored show comprised: The Wills Sisters Anne and Sue, Bev Harrell, and the sister and brother act, Ricky and Tammy and a three man band. The gymnasium had been opened earlier that night by General Kay and was named after Warrant Officer Class 2 Kevin Wheatley the first Vietnam winner of the Victoria Cross and Australia's ninety-third recipient of the award.
