Phuoc Tuy Province, South Vietnam. March 1971. Australians soldiers played an important role in getting a badly injured Vietnamese woman to hospital after she had been knocked down by a hit and run driver near Baria, the capital of Phuoc Tuy Province. The woman, who sustained a broken leg, was made as comfortable as possible until a Vietnamese medic had administered drugs before she was taken to the Baria hospital. Helping the woman into a Landrover are, left to right: Captain Oakley, Medical Officer with the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR); 3794635 Lance Corporal Fedor Poczyhajlo of Reservoir, Vic, a member of 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR); 3797207 Corporal James (Jim) A. Conley of South Oakleigh, Vic; and two Vietnamese men.
