Description
Nui Dat, South Vietnam. April 1971. Members of the Kerr Committee, which was examining conditions of service in Australia's armed forces, were shown a simulated extraction (dust off) of wounded soldiers from a jungle location. Major J. S. Vercoe of Trinity Gardens, SA (left), a medical officer, explains the procedure to the Chairman of the Committee, Mr Justice J. R. Kerr (who later became Governor General of Australia), and General Sir John Wilton, a member of the Committee.
