Nui Dat, South Vietnam. April 1971. Members of the specially appointed Kerr Committee which was examining conditions of service throughout Australia's armed forces, speak with Brigadier A. M. McDonald, Task Force Commander, at the 1st Australian Task Force Base (1ATF). Members of the Committee, left to right: General Sir John Wilton; Brigadier McDonald; Mr Justice J. R. Kerr, Committee Chairman, and Colonel W. F. Burnard, an Army consultant. The Committee spent several days covering all Australian operational areas in an effort to study and ascertain servicemen's views of conditions and the work they had to do in the field.
