Description

Shoalwater Bay, Qld. April 1966. Lance Corporal Rod Hogan, 23, of Stafford, Qld (left), and Private Graham Kelly, 19, of Toowoomba, Qld, inspect an enemy booby trap that they uncovered during a search of a simulated Viet Cong village at Shoalwater Bay, near Rockhampton, Qld. Both men are members of the 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR), at present taking part in Exercise Foxhole, a counter-insurgency operation, designed to familiarise the Battalion with conditions they are likely to encounter in South Vietnam, when they move there with the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) in a few weeks.
