Informal portrait of 400735 Flight Lieutenant Len S. Reid DFC, Officer in Charge of 79 Squadron sitting on the wing of his Spitfire Mk VIII, A58-522 at Pitoe Airfield. The aircraft has the name "Hal-Far" on the engine cowling, below the pilot's window. Halfar was the airstrip in Malta, from where Flight Lieutenant Reid flew when he was serving with No. 185 Squadron RAF, from 3 June to 31 October 1942.
