Vung Tau, South Vietnam. May 1970. A beach barbecue, and a can of Victoria Bitter (VB) beer, to celebrate closer ties between 200 sappers from Australian and New Zealand electrical and mechanical engineering units. The Queen had given approval for an alliance between the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RAEME) and the Royal New Zealand Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RNZEME).
