Nui Dat, South Vietnam. May 1970. The Commander of the Australian Force Vietnam (COMAFV), Major General (Maj Gen) C. A. E. Fraser, pins the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on Warrant Officer Class 2 F. R. Smith of Templestowe, Vic, and the 1st Australian Civil Affairs Unit. Maj Gen Fraser presented four of the medals to senior non-commissioned officers during a parade at the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) base. The Long Service and Good Conduct Medal is awarded for eighteen years continuous service.
