Description
Four members of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), relaxing around an evening campfire. Their unit is taking part in British Commonwealth Occupation Force (BCOF) amphibious landing exercises on deserted islands in the Inland Sea. Left to right: unidentified; 246971 Corporal Amos John (Mick) Hatton; unidentified; and 19915 Sergeant (Sgt) S K J 'Len' Lenoy. Sgt Lenoy, an Aboriginal serviceman, was killed on 24 April 1951 while commanding a machine gun section with A Company at the Battle of Kapyong in Korea.
