Description
Members of C Company, the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), travel in the back of a British three ton truck to the starting point of a patrol into the No Man's Land of North Korea, above the Imjin River. The soldiers are holding .303 calibre rifles. The soldier second from the right is Private (Pte) Alfred 'Alf' Barlow. Pte Barlow arrived in Korea in June 1951, being one of many British soldiers who enlisted in the Australian Army in London around November or December 1950. Pte Barlow was killed in action in Korea on 16 March 1952 All other soldiers are unidentified.
