c. 1938. Studio portrait of John Samuel Freeth who, as 411768 Sergeant J. S. Freeth, flew with 455 Squadron during the Second World War. He was credited with sinking a submarine with depth charges in April 1943. He was killed in a flying accident on 24 May 1943. (Donor D. Freeth).
