Description

Long Huong, South Vietnam. May 1970. Commander of the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF), Brigadier S. P. Weir of Braddon, ACT, cuts a ribbon to open a new market place. With him is the Province Deputy Administrative Chief, Mr Lam Huu Sai. The market was sub-contracted to a local builder by the 1st Australian Civil Affairs Unit. Two Vietnamese women hold the ribbon while it is cut and another stands behind Mr Lam.
