South Vietnam. June 1970. Private Paul Simpson of Leongatha, Vic, takes a paludrine pill, to prevent becoming sick with malaria, from Sergeant (Sgt) Andy Bodnar of Busby, NSW. Both are members of D Company, 8th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (8RAR), who were ambushing around the Binh Ba rubber plantation, about seven miles north of the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) base at Nui Dat. Sgt Bodnar is usually the company's cook at Nui Dat.
